Content Guidelines

Strive is a place to plan your life: your goals, your days, your notes, and the people who matter to you. When you publish a note, it becomes a public page that anyone with the link can read. We want those pages to be safe to read and safe to share, so everything you publish has to follow these guidelines.

Nobody at Strive reads a page before it goes up, so every published page belongs to its author. When we learn that a page breaks these guidelines, we take it down. The link stops working, the author sees the takedown, and the rest of their account is not affected.

Illegal activities

Do not use a published page to plan, promote, or enable illegal activity, including the sale of illegal goods or services.

Graphic and harmful content

Do not publish anything that sexualizes or exploits a child, encourages self-harm or suicide, or celebrates violence. Gratuitously violent or sexually explicit material does not belong on a published page.

Harassment, bullying, and threats

Do not use a page to harass, bully, or threaten a person, and do not use one to encourage others to do it.

Hateful content

Do not publish content that attacks people because of their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, gender, or sexual orientation, or that praises those who do.

Infringement of intellectual property

Publish only what you have the right to publish. Do not post someone else's work in a way that violates their copyright or trademark.

Malicious and deceptive practices

Do not use a page for phishing, malware, or scams. Do not impersonate a person or an organization, and do not build a page to pass as somebody else's.

Violation of privacy

Do not publish another person's private information, such as a home address, contact details, or financial details, without their consent.

Spam

Do not publish pages whose main purpose is to manipulate search results, drive bulk traffic, or push unwanted promotion on readers.

Reporting a page

If you believe a published page violates these guidelines, use the flag icon in the page footer to report it. A person reads every report. You will not hear back individually, but we act on every page that breaks these guidelines. An author who wants to contest a takedown can write to the same address.
